The lake is one of the largest in the whole of the UK and one of the main tourists
draws in Scotland.
It’s 39 kilometres (24.2 mi) long and between 1.2 to 8 kilometres (0.75–4.97
mi) wide with the average depth of 37m (121 ft). What’s more: the loch
contains over thirty islands, their exact number depending on the water level.
One of the main tourist attractions of the lake are wallabies – small
kangaroos that inhabit one of the islands.
Thanks to its size, the lake is ideal for pike and European perch to live in. The
fish in the lake grow much bigger compared to those in other lakes and there are so many of them, fishing is a real treat! Who knows, maybe you’ll break
