Location and transportation

Loch Lomond is part of the first Scottish National Park – Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. It’s located 20 miles from Glasgow (around 40 minutes by car).

If you travel by car from abroad – the drive from one of the Southern ferry Harbours to Glasgow takes approximately nine hours. You can also travel by
plane and then drive to Loch Lomond with a rented car from one of the providers at the airport. This is the fastest way of reaching us if you’re coming from overseas.

We can also help you organize transportation – simply reach out to us and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Fishing season and spots Loch

Loch Lomond is a fishery with no off-season for perch or pike fishing. This means you can fish all year round.

The only restrictions apply to fishing salmonids – in their case, fishing season is open from February to October.

If you want to test your skills fishing extremely big and aggressive fish, the optimal fishing period is between May and September – you absolutely have
to visit us then! During those months, water in the lake becomes warmer and fish become more active. It is not unusual to catch a dozen or more 12 – 16lb (80 cm – 90 cm) fish per day. Our customers have often encountered even bigger fish that go beyond 20lb (1 m.)!

Reminders

Just a gentle reminder to make sure you’re fully prepared for your Scottish adventure:

● A passport
● Polarized glasses – for vision comfort and eyesight protection.
● A few sets of clothes – including T-shirt, hoodies, jackets, a cap and a beanie, thermal underwear, raincoat, waterproof fishing pants and boots.
